Jordan is a Calgary native who was a part of the inaugural PBF travel team in 2007. In Little League, he competed for two national championships. In 2005 he was a part of the Zone 3 team that captured the gold medal at the Alberta Summer Games. He also attended the Mizuno Junior Elite Camp in 2007. In 2008, he posted an 11-4 record with 136 K in 91 IP playing in Alberta.

Jordan then went on to the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball where he posted a 6-1 record with a 1.94 ERA to go with 56 K in 39 IP in 2009. Jordan was selected in the 46th round by the Milwaukee Brewers that year. Throughout his high school career he was a part of Team Alberta on four occasions, and was a part of the team that won the gold medal at the Western Canada Summer Games in 2007. When he competed in the Canada Cup in 2008, he received the tournament’s Top Pitcher Award and was invited to the Canadian Junior National Team tryout held in Orlando, Florida.

After graduating, Jordan spent the summer in the BC Premier League, where he helped the Fraser Valley Chiefs to the playoff finals. From there he went on to attend Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas (NCJAA D1). After securing a starting spot, he started battling injuries and eventually had reconstructive elbow surgery.
