August 27, 2008 - GRANTON, FEENSTRA SELECTED TO PROSPECTS - Two members of the PBF JV team have been named to the AABC Prospects and will gather in Kindersley, SK this upcoming weekend.  Infielder Nick Granton and pitcher Donovan Feenstra were selected after the Rawlings Cup Tournament in Medicine Hat.  Granton hit .417 (5 for 12) with a double and a stolen base, while Feenstra struck out seven over five innings in his only appearance of the tournament.  Congratulations to both Nick and Donovan!

August 25, 2008 - PBF PLAYERS TO TRYOUT FOR CANADIAN JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAM - Joel Lutz (Medicine Hat, AB, left) and Jordan Wong (Calgary, AB, right) recently participated in the Canada Cup and were recognized for their play by receiving invitations to try out for Team Canada's Junior National Team.  Joel was named the Canada Cup's top first baseman while Jordan was named the Canada Cup's top pitcher.  Joel hit .320 last year for PBF and will be a key part of the offense for the 2008-2009 season.  Jordan, who has moved on to the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball for this season, has also been identified as a prospect by the Arizona Diamondbacks, Minnesota Twins, and Milwaukee Brewers.  Congratulations to both players! 

August 24, 2008 - PBF JV RETURNS FROM MEDICINE HAT - The PBF JV team returned from the Rawlings Cup in Medicine Hat after dropped its four round robin games.  Although the results may not have been positive on the scoreboard, the coaching staff and players got a chance to see not only what the competition had to offer, but what the JV had to offer for the future.  The JV team made this trip before gathering to practice as a team and will be prepared for the Spitz Tournament September 6th and 7th in Lethbridge.  Please check out the weekend statistics on the Statistics page.
